Memories in 2009…So Far Part II!

After discussing the 9 months in the year 2009, it’s time to finish off the events and tragedies in October and November. Let’s start with October 2009, when Beyonce was announced “Entertainer of the Year” at the Billboard Awards. After her class act at the VMAs and her international tour in 2009, Beyonce proves that she’s a true talent and a humble artist. Barack Obama won the Noble Peace Prize for “strengthening international diplomacy and cooperating the people in our nation.” Upcoming artist Jay Sean took “Down” the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling”, which peaked at the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks. The children’s book “Where the Wild These Are” became a nationwide movie that not only warm hearts for kids, but for adults too. After the passing of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, he posthumously released a new single and a new concert film called “This Is It”. The movie box office gross for “This Is It” was $180,000,000.00. Returning artists, such as Shakira, Creed, and…the Backstreet Boys, released their albums in the middle of October. At the end of October, Halloween occurred, Daylight Savings ended, and Lil Wayne was sentenced to 8 months in prison for gun charges in New York City.
On November 2009, Barack Obama made his first year in the presidential office. Lady GaGa’s The Fame will be re-released later in November. The Blockbuster New Moon will be released on November 20th and the movie, Precious, became a heart-felt film that touches lives in the streets and in the suburbs. Sesame Street turns 40 on November 2009. The New York Yankees defeat the Philadelphia Phillies in a 4 to 2 game to win the World Series championship. This not only made Hideki Matsui the World Series MVP, but this is the NY’s 27th win for the World Series championship. And finally, Britney Spears and Rihanna release their albums in late November. Like I said before, who knows what we’ll gain or lose in 2010, and who knows what to expect for next year.
