January 2010 Re-Cap!!

Hey Everybody! I’m back and I’m ready to do a new blog series. The name of my blog series is called “Re-Cap”! As you know, I’m a big fan of looking back at what happened each month of the year! I hope 2010 is one year we’ll never forget. Anyway, let me give you guys a Re-Cap of January 2010.

2010…a new decade and a new year!!!! In the music world, old and new artist are ready to start their productions and make new albums. Watch out Lady GaGa, there’s a new fashion-fever pop singer. Ke$ha…you know, the girl who sings “TiK ToK”…well it turns out her single is number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for 6 weeks in a row. Can this artist rule 2010, or just be another one hit wonder?

Then there’s Obama! Oh Obama, I just hope you make sure your compromises are as trustworthy as your trust in change!

In the movie world, it turns out that Avatar is one movie that is hard to beat at the Golden Globe Awards. Sandra Bullock, Monique, Jeff Bridges, and Christoph Waltz claim the prize for Best Actors and Actresses. I pray that Precious, Avatar, Up, Inglorious Basterds, Nine, and the Hurt Locker claim big wins for the Oscars in March. So far in 2010, the only movie that I’m willing to see in January is the Book of Eli!

The Final Play-offs in the NFL was between Vikings and Saints/ Jets and Colts. It turns out that the Saints overcome and are going to SuperBowl XLIV! This is the first time the Saints are going to the SuperBowl ever since the 1960’s! Sorry Bret Farve, better luck next time. And as for the Jets and the Colts, Peyton Manning and the Colts demolish the Jets. This SuperBowl may sound predictable on who’s going to win, but expect the unexpected!

Last but not least, the GRAMMYS!!!!! Who would’ve thought that LADY GAGA and ELTON JOHN would perform together on the same stage? Then there’s Green Day…and the cast of GLEE? Very Surprising!! Then there was Jamie Foxx, T-Pain…DOUG E. FRESH, and SLASH? OMG, these combinations gets weirder and cooler. I expect Lady GaGa to win a lot of awards. It turns out that she won Best Electronica Song and Album. Black Eyed Peas won several awards. Maxwell, Kings of Leon, Green Day, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Zac Brown Band won awards too. But the artist who won the most Grammys was Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Beyonce won Best Song, Female Solo Performance, and Contemporary R&B Album while Taylor Swift won Best Country Album and Album of the Year! The GRAMMYS was also to pay tribute to the great Paul Les and Michael Jackson!!

I guess January 2010 was not as bad as I thought it would be…I’ll see you guys at the end of February 2010!!!!

And one more note…this month was the month of the Earthquake in Haiti! Please send a donation to the Red Cross, Unicef, or Wyclef Jean’s Yele Foundation!! Help the people in Haiti!!!
