Hey ya’ll! I’m back again for a Re-Cap on February 2010! Here we go!
So in the first week of February, the SAINTS won the XXIV Superbowl! This is the New Orleans Saints first time ever winning the Superbowl championship! It took them 43 years…43 YEARS! This game was unexpected and very spectacular. This also extended the Mardi Gras celebration!!
Then, there’s music! Ke$ha song, “TiK ToK”, has now been number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for 9 months! But now, the Black Eyed Peas ended her reign with their song “Imma Be”! What’s even cool is the return of SADE! SADE SADE SADE! I’m glad she’s back! Her album, Soldier of Love, went number one 2 times in a row on the Billboard Top 200! I hope continue to create good music!
In the film world, Shutter Island claim to be a talked about movie! This movie had great ratings and its all thriller…and killer! Then there’s Valentine’s Day…ugh! I don’t want to talk about it!
This month was also known for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games! Before the games began, a number of concerns and controversies surfaced and received media attention. Hours before the opening ceremony, Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili, was killed during a training run. However, officials concluded that it was an athlete error rather than a track deficiency. The 2010 Winter Olympics, officially the XXI Olympic Winter Games or the 21st Winter Olympics, is a major international multi-sport event held on February 12–28, 2010, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with some events held in the resort town of Whistler, British Columbia and in the Vancouver suburbs of Richmond, West Vancouver and the University Endowment Lands. For the first time, Canada won gold at an Olympic Games hosted in Canada, having failed to do so at both the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Canada clinched first overall in gold medal wins on the second last day of competition. The United States won the most medals in total, their second time doing so, and in doing so won most medals by any nation at any Olympic Winter Games.
Well, that’s all I have to say about February 2010! See you in March 2010!
One more note, let’s don’t forget about the victims of Chile and the devastating earthquake! Pray for the victims! And also, the Hope for Haiti all-stars did a 25th year anniversary to “We are the World”! Please help the victims in Haiti and Chile!
