Childhood TV Shows: DARIA

If you had the power to bring back one of your favorite childhood TV shows, what would it be DARIA!

DARIA is a spin-off of Mike Judge’s animated Beavis and Butt-head series, in which Daria appeared as a recurring character. The series from 1997 to 2002 focuses on Daria Morgendorffer, a smart, acerbic, and somewhat misanthropic teenage girl who observes the world around her. The show is set in the fictional suburban American town of Lawndale and is a satire of high school life, and full of allusions to and criticisms of popular culture and social classes. All in all, this show was part of my childhood life and it reminds me how life is in a funny and sad way.

The reason why I want this show to come back is because even though the season ended when Daria graduated from high school, it would be even cooler to see how she survives college and start a new life with cooler (or dumber) colleagues. It would be also awesome to see how her family and friends from Lawndale changed. This show, in general, is like reading the Bible; it reflects my life (in some certain scenarios) and it reminds me to live like you’re dying.
